Drawings, Scuplture

Imprisoned speaks about the absence of social connections and the presence of loneliness during this time. The mixed media sculptural work consists of 25 drawings, of objects that Qin has become intensely familiar with in her daily life as a result of quarantine. Each has a light timestamp on the page, marking the passage of time. The drawings are assembled together to create bars that surround the artist in a corner of her apartment. Made only of newsprint, Qin could easily break out of the fragile structure in which she is imprisoned, but she still feels trapped inside.
